Waking up

counting my blessings.

Tuesday we stopped off at the Apple store so I could get a look at some new computer equipment. I wanted to see before I bought. After much "please can you help me?" a very nice gentleman walked me through the merits of various laptops and suggested I wait until Spring when Apple announces new upgrades. Thank you kind sir!

This morning, Thursday, in that state between sleep and wakefulness I saw in my semi-dream state the Apple store. A picture of Steve Jobs slid in and then the thought came - With all of his intelligence, skills, creativity and money he died at the relatively young age of 56 from pancreatic cancer.  Nothing he had, nothing he achieved, could stem that tide.

Then the thought - here I am, no one special, certainly not wealthy, with no earth shaking accomplishments to my name - alive and relatively well at age 71.

And I awoke fully, counting my blessings.
